A difficult conversation can teach you a lot
A customer conversation is over, and you know it didn't work. Maybe there was a price objection you had no good answer to. Maybe it was a technical question that made you stumble, or a moment when you lost the thread.
Most people push it aside and hope it goes better next time. What actually helps is the opposite: debrief a difficult sales conversation while the details are still fresh. Three steps get you further:
Capture what happened. The specific moment, not the whole conversation. What did the customer say, and what did you answer?
Find a better answer. Not the perfect one, but one you feel more confident with.
Practise out loud before the situation comes up again. Having a good answer in your head isn't enough. Having said it once makes the difference.
By the evening, the exact words are often gone. That is why the moment right after the conversation counts.
With Fioro
Practise the difficult moment again
The coach in Fioro listens and turns a difficult moment into an exercise that sticks. For the point where things went wrong, it creates a coaching session or a roleplay. You practise by voice, as often as you like and with no consequences for a real customer. After every attempt, you see where you're already confident and what you can do better next time.
Describe to the coach the moment that's on your mind: what the customer said and how you answered.
Practise the situation by voice until you feel confident with your answer.
Take away the one point that makes the most difference in your next conversation.
Freddy
Your coach in Fioro
A customer told me today that we're 20,000 euros more expensive than a competitor, and I didn't know how to respond. Create a coaching session so I can practise it.
A price objection is easier to handle when you know what's in the other offer. “You're 20,000 euros more expensive” only means there is a difference. Whether it's in the scope, the terms or the service, you only find out by asking calmly.
I'll set up a coaching session where we practise exactly that. You'll try out how to respond to the objection and get your value across clearly. Does that work for you?
Frequently asked questions
How can I practise handling objections realistically?
A specific objection is best practised out loud, with a counterpart who reacts and pushes back. Describe the objection to the Fioro coach, and it creates a roleplay or coaching session for you to practise by voice.
Why go through a difficult conversation straight afterwards?
While the details are fresh, you can see exactly which answer will work better next time. The Fioro coach helps you turn that moment into practice instead of just carrying it around in your head.
How can I debrief a difficult sales conversation?
Tell the coach by voice or text what happened, or upload the recording of the conversation. The Fioro coach shows you where things got stuck and creates a coaching session or roleplay for exactly that moment.
